EVIDENCE: DECISION-MAKING MATRIX

Harborside Academy maintains a significant level of leadership capacity by embracing the ideals of shared leadership. Of course, Harborside has an administrative team that consists of a principal and assistant principal. In addition, we also employ one instructional coach and three deans of students. Harborside Academy also has a leadership team, an office team, seven grade-level teams, content-area teams, and a charter school governance board, which is comprised of mostly parents and community members.

All of these different leadership structures add significant capacity to manage many needs at the same time, but having this many people involved in the leadership decision-making process can also lead to confusion and/or frustration if not organized properly. Therefore, as part of the Harborside Academy Governance Board By-Laws, a Decision-Making Matrix was created to ensure clarity regarding who is making all the different decisions that need to be made.
